Privacy Policy

Your information, handled with care

Last updated: 28 October 2026

Who is responsible for your information

Banter Web Design is operated by Gabrielle Williams in Tauranga, New Zealand. This policy explains how personal information is handled when you use this website or contact Banter, with reference to the Privacy Act 2020.

Information you provide

When you make an enquiry, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, the service you are interested in and your message. You may also provide business information, project content and correspondence when working with Banter. Please only provide information needed for your enquiry and do not include passwords or sensitive personal information.

The website enquiry form prepares an email draft in your email application. It does not itself send your message or save a submitted enquiry in a website database. The information reaches Banter only when you send the email. Your email provider also processes the draft under its own privacy terms.

Technical information and cookies

The website hosting and security services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, requested pages and diagnostic information to deliver the website, troubleshoot errors and protect it from misuse. Third-party font requests may share technical connection information with Google Fonts.

No advertising pixels or visitor analytics tools have been added to the website by Banter. Hosting providers may use essential cookies or similar technology for security or service delivery. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although restricting essential technology may affect website functionality.

How information is used

Information is used to respond to enquiries, discuss and provide requested services, manage client relationships, keep necessary business records, maintain website security and meet legal obligations. Providing enquiry information is voluntary, but without contact details or enough information about your request, Banter may be unable to respond or provide a service.

Sharing and overseas providers

Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the business, including email, hosting, technical support and professional advisers, or disclosed when required by law. Some providers may process information outside New Zealand. Where overseas disclosures are subject to the Privacy Act 2020, reasonable steps are taken to meet the applicable protections. Personal information is not sold.

Google reviews and external links

This website displays publicly available Google Business Profile reviews, including reviewer names, review text and, when available, ratings and dates. Clicking a Google review link takes you to Google, which applies its own privacy policy. Other linked websites also have their own privacy practices.

Security and retention

Reasonable safeguards are used to protect personal information, but no internet transmission or system can be guaranteed completely secure. Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, including applicable legal and business record-keeping obligations, then deleted or de-identified where appropriate.

Access, correction and concerns

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can request access to your personal information and ask for corrections. Contact Gabrielle using the details below. Identity verification may be needed before information can be provided. If a correction is not made, you can ask for a statement of the requested correction to be attached to the information.

Please contact Banter first if you have a privacy concern. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz if you are not satisfied with the response.

Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the website, services or legal requirements. The current version is published on this page.
